Family Pictures

We went to Portrait Innovations this morning to have our family picture taken for Christmas cards. The photographer ended up taking quite a few shots of Ashlyn and not as many as we would have liked of the family. We ended up buying only one pose (like we initially intended), but came home and took some of our own. I mean, if we are going to spend all this effort dressing up in coordinating outfits, we might as well make it worth our while.

I think I like the lighting of the outdoor pictures better than the indoor ones.

Loving the Sippy

Since it has been over a week without a picture of Ashlyn, I decided that I better post one. She loves to drink out of her sippy cup, so here's an action shot. Exciting, I know!

15 Month Checkup

Ashlyn had her 15 month well doctor visit today, and she actually wasn't feeling quite 'well.' Earlier this week she started coughing and she has had a lot of congestion too. I think it is gradually getting better, but she is still pretty miserable. I also learned at the doctor's office today that she is getting her molars too - you can only see one right now, but her gums around the other ones are all red and swollen. Poor thing.

So, here are the stats from her checkup today:

Height - 29.75" (between 25th and 50th percentile)
Weight - 19lb 15oz (10th percentile)
Head Circumference - 47cm (75th percentile)

She had her chicken pox and MMR immunizations and now she has two cute My Little Pony bandaids on her thighs. She cried so hard!

Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to post one more picture of Ashlyn in her cute costume. She didn't go trick-or-treating last night, but she loved running to the door when ever there was a knock to see the kids in their costumes. She is such a people person! She had her fair share of candy too.

Earlier in the afternoon we stopped by Brad's work, because all the workers had candy set out for office trick-or-treating. Ashlyn didn't really pick up any treats there, but Brad had a chance to show her off. He said that she most enjoyed a small doggie who was dressed up in a Halloween costume and was a little scared of his co-worker with a goatee. Apparently, there were tons of trick-or-treaters that did the rounds, so maybe next year we should send him with more candy!

We also enjoyed hanging out with our friends, Jake and Gretchen, who came by to help pass out candy and keep us company. All in all, it was a Happy Halloween!

Halloween 06

Last year during Halloween we were in Georgia! This picture was taken at a party at one of the ward member's homes. Ashlyn was dressed up as a little pumpkin (I guess that's obvious). Brad and I dressed up as ourselves.

There's No Place Like Home

Last night was the ward Halloween party, so we all decided to dress up. We spent most of our time helping out at the cupcake walk, but it was a lot of fun. I had quite a few people tell me that they didn't even recognize me and I can understand why - I was sooooooo green! I almost look more like a swamp thing than a witch! Ashlyn would not let go of that apple (maybe she should have been Snow White). We really enjoyed seeing everyone's costumes and we're looking forward to passing out candy tonight!

Miskin Halloween Party

This morning the Miskins had a Halloween party. The kids went bobbing for apples, participated in a coloring contest, made spiders out of balloons and ate delicious food (like monster paw chicken nuggets and Frankenstein cupcakes). Ashlyn enjoyed playing with the other children and toys! Everyone had such cute costumes - there was a ballerina, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, a pirate, a princess, a lady bug and a rocker!

Ashlyn is playing with Tanner's sword made out of a balloon.

You can kind of see Ashlyn's whole costume in this picture. She also had a little basket with a dog in it. I'll try to take more pictures at the ward party tonight!

Thank you Miskins for a great time!
