Two Pounds of Love

Yesterday I celebrated my 25th Birthday, and it felt so significant. It is such an old birthday. It was a perfect day and I feel so blessed. Thank you everyone for your love!

Brad came home from work with this:

I can't think of a better way for someone to show me that they care then with two pounds of Twizzler love. He really does know me well. Thanks babe!

I wanted to go through some old stuff and get it organized (or thrown out or given away), so we spent some time last night doing that and I feel like I've lost 10 pounds. It was wonderful to get a little more organized and decluttered!

I didn't feel like eating at a sit-down restaurant (probably because I had Mimi's for breakfast), so we decided to check out this new fast-food place in Orem.

It was like In-N-Out Burger. It was good. I had chicken strips and he had a double cheeseburger and Ashlyn has like 2 million fries. We liked it and it hit the spot.

All the other little details of the day were just wonderful. I think 25 is a good age. Here's to at least 25 more!

My Crafty Sisters-in-Law

I have two really awesome sisters-in-law. They are both so talented, and lately I've really benefited from their talents.

For one thing, last night Heidi gave us this FHE chart. Of course, she'd made it herself. I couldn't get it on the wall fast enough - I even put it up without Brad's help!

Heidi also made this quiet book for Ashlyn for Christmas. It has pictures of all Ashlyn's extended family and she loves looking at it. Everyone who has seen it just thinks it is the greatest idea ever!

Then, there is Allison, who is quite crafty too. She made Ashlyn this quiet book with pictures of Christ. I love having it for her to look at during sacrament.

Allison is also into digital scrapbooking and has shared some of her adorable layouts. Check this one out. I'm pretty sure she took these adorable pictures too!

My goal is to eventually creat some cute, digital page layouts of my own, so maybe someday I'll be able to return the favor. But until then, I just want to say "Thank you!"

Oreo Girl

Ashlyn had just woken up from an nap and she was super fussy. Nothing calms a kid down quite like an Oreo!

The Pink Snow Bunny

It seems like we have been cooped up inside for way to long! I decided that we needed to get out for some fresh air, so Ashlyn and I bundled up and headed out to the park with the innertube. The snow was absolutely gorgeous and there was so much of it! We enjoyed a few runs down small hills and even went swinging for a little bit. Ashlyn found it a little difficult to walk in the snow, so she wanted to be carried most of the time.

A family in the ward gave us this hand-me-down snowsuit. It is size 18 months (Ashlyn is 17 mos), but it was quite large. Maybe we'll be able to use it next year.

I just bought the snow boots on clearance at Osh Kosh and I got a big size, so I think they were really awkward for her to walk in.

The snow was pretty deep!

I must say that I've really enjoyed all the snow we've received in Utah this year. I mean, if it is going to be cold, it might as well be a beautiful, snowy cold! It is, however, a bummer when we want to drive somewhere and the roads are dangerous - that part of snow is not fun!

Happy New Year!

We've had a wonderful new year so far! Last night we left Ashlyn with Brad's parents (along with her cousins) and went to dinner with Lance and Heidi. It was wonderful to have a night out! The next morning we all went to the Bailey's with sleds and warm clothes to enjoy a nearby snow-covered hill.

Those who knew me in college may recognize my white marshmallow coat. Yes, it is still being used. Ashlyn borrowed her cousins snowsuit and boots and they worked perfectly. Luckily, her hat and mittens were pink, so you could tell she was a girl.

Ashlyn took her first trip down the hill with Brad. Aren't they cute?

Marley went down the hill on Lance's back! She did a good job of holding on tight.

Brad was bored with the easy, sitting down stuff.

We sent Ashlyn down the hill all by herself, and at the end of her run, she slid off the sled! She just laid there in the snow.

Brad pulled her back up to the top. She seemed to enjoy it. . . I mean, who wouldn't?

All the sledding cousins are preparing to go together!

Grandma brought this tube and it quickly became Ashlyn's favorite.

Cousin Mabel is trying to push Ashlyn up the hill in the tube. I was impressed by her strength! I was getting worn out from pulling and carrying her from the bottom to the top!

Ashlyn is just plain worn out! She would just lay in the tube waiting for someone to send her down the hill and then carry her back up! What a life!
